the world compete annually in the Lumberjack World Championships, American
Birkebeiner cross country ski marathon, and the Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival
mountain bike race. Join us for Musky Festival, Hayward's largest community

American Birkebeiner

The American Birkebeiner is made up
of several ski events in addition to the 50K and 54K marathons and is one of
the largest cross country ski races in North America. It is also part of the
prestigious Worldloppet League. Three days of competition also include the
Elite Sprints on Main Street in downtown Hayward, Barnebirkie, Junior Birkie
and 5K/10K Family Fun Ski, Prince Haakon 12K, and the Kortelopet. Call

Musky Festival
June 23 - 26, 2011
Hayward's
largest summer celebration of the great fishing history of Wisconsin's
northwoods. Held annually the weekend following Father's Day in downtown
Hayward. The weekend includes the crowning of our Musky Festival Queen,
sidewalk sales, large handmade arts & crafts show, live music, children's
games, great food booths, Musky Run, fishing contest and a carnival. Everyone
will enjoy regional musicians during Friday and Saturday night street dances.

Honor The Earth Pow-Wow
July 15 - 17, 2011
The largest pow-wow in North America, the Honor the Earth
Pow-wow celebrates the annual gathering of the tribes to honor mother earth and
the Creator in celebratory drumming, dancing and song the third weekend of July
in Hayward. Traditional Native American music, dancing, crafts and food create
an authentic tribal experience. The Lac Courte Oreilles Royalty Coronation,
special recognition ceremonies, social singing and dancing, a traditional
cooking contest, a run/walk, softball tournament and golf tournament are among
the featured events.

Sawyer County Fair

annual Sawyer County Fair promotes and encourages education, agriculture, the
arts and entertainment through an annual fair and associated event. It has been
in existence for over one hundred years. Families, youth and adults may enjoy
different programs and activities that promote positive youth and young adult
development. The fair hosts a carnival, demo derby, kids pedal power, cow

Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival

Each year in mid-September, thousands of fat tired fliers
descend on the towns of Cable and Hayward in northwestern Wisconsin to take on
the off-road bicycle tests of endurance and agility offered during the
Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival weekend. Since its inception in 1983, the
Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival has built a popularity and reputation that is
